I had the distinct pleasure, and when I say pleasure, I mean bone-melting-what-a-fantastic-read-pleasure of reading this ahead of time, and can I just say, this book (and all the stories in it) rocked?

There were so many intriguing, and romantic stories all packed into one book, and it put me in heaven.

Favorites of the anthology written by: Julie Ann Walker, Lea Griffith, ML Buchman, and Suzanne Brockman.

The focus of the stories surround difficulties each military member had to face while at the same time, love or things happening to those they love coming under some sort of conflict or threat. I loved how each author delivered the problem and wrapped up the conflict with minimal time. While I'm normally a lover of novels and/or longer books, these stories definitely kept me reading.

The charity link is also something very dear to my heart, so I'd like to give a big Hoorah to all authors for donating their time to delivering great stories!

Let's help all of them by giving them a big shout out and congrats on their new release, which is coming out tomorrow!

Hi guys! I'm really excited to bring you all WHAT COULD HAVE this week for free! For the last two weeks, my lovely publisher offered ARMED AND DESIRED for free, but that time has passed. You can still pick up copies of it, so don't fret. :) WHAT COULD HAVE is a lovely story about a military couple who is separated by their duties, and reunited again ten years later.

And did I mention, it's free?!

What Could Have is an emotional journey with two characters that I will not soon forget. FREE for 1 week!

Title: 50 Ways to Ruin a Rake

Author: Jade Lee

Series: Rakes and Rogues

Pubdate: May 5th, 2015

Mellie Smithson has a plan…

Mellie Smithson is trapped in the country with no suitors and no prospects on the horizon except, perhaps, the exasperating—although admittedly handsome—guest of her father. Unwilling to settle, Mellie will do anything to escape to London...

Trevor Anaedsley has a problem…

Trevor Anaedsley’s grandfather has cut off his funds until he gets engaged. Beset by creditors, Trevor escapes to the country—ostensibly to visit his old tutor Mr. Smithson—where he meets Smithson’s lovely daughter Mellie. The obvious solution is suddenly before him—but will this fake engagement go as Trevor and Mellie plan? Or will they find that even the best laid plans often go awry?

USA Today bestselling author Jade Lee has been scripting love stories since she first picked up a set of paper dolls. Ball gowns and rakish lords caught her attention early (thank you, Georgette Heyer), and her fascination with the Regency began. An author of more than thirty romance novels and winner of dozens of industry awards, Lee lives in Champaign, Illinois.

A little bit about Veil of Scars:

Steven is tall, dark and damaged. He doesn't let anyone close, comfortable on the outside of normal life where he can hide his scars behind a wall so high that nothing gets through…except them. Despite a childhood marred with black and blue, he's survived and moved in with his two best friends, Sam and Charlie.

Life should get better, but it was Sam who held him when the dark threatened to swallow him whole, Sam who gave him a place that felt like home, and Sam who knew every scar and every broken place.

And it's all been taken away with Charlie sharing Sam's bed.

Without his former confront, Steven realizes what's been hiding in the deep corners of his heart, and the truth sinks him like a weight. He’s in love with one or maybe both of his roommates. Navigating unrequited love tears Steven apart and brings him to the precipice, and he has to choose: his feelings or Sam’s…and Charlie’s?

NEW RELEASE with Sarah Castille #FULLCONTACT

I'm hosting the release of FULL CONTACT, a fabulous and gripping new story by Sarah Castille. I couldn't put this story down, and it had everything I wanted in a great story: lots of tension, gripping suspense, laugh out loud lines, and chemistry enough to sizzle the pages. Ray and Sia are two characters that, by the end of the book, will make you feel as if you've met new friends. You'll root for them, while at the same time, curse each barrier that pops up.

The writing will pull you in with each passing word, and once you're finished reading, it'll be a story that sticks with you for weeks!

I've given this five fabulous stars for a great read!

<--- Am EDITING!

Lots of exciting things going on right now. My part in GIRL CODE (Release: Late Spring 2015) called PERSISTENCE is due to the ed-it-tor in two days and a wake up. Cait, Jess, Lea, and Julie Ann are all working to make sure this is going to be a fabulous book for you to read! :)

After that, I'll be moving on to edit book 2 of Empire Blue, which from those of you following, will be Dwayne's book.  Few things to note with this...this story has been done since Spring of last year. Yes, Spring. Why am I so behind on sending it to the publisher? Well, life got in the way last year between illnesses, running a conference, being a VP for a writing chapter, coaching soccer, working full time, raising two lovely children...and finding my footing after all was said and done. So now, I have a motivation to have this book to my publisher before the end of March.

On the heels of that, I'm working on a story that will tie into both of the books above. It'll be a sub-series of Empire Blue, and while I'm about a quarter the way done with this story, I still haven't come up with a series name for it. If you have suggestions, I'm all ears. But basically it'll involve a light link to the activity going on in Nyack and with the crew of Gonzalez brothers there, as well as a strong story line with a super secret non-government spy agency. Do I have your attention yet? *grins* This story is due to my ed-it-tor by the middle of July, so I'm hoping for a Fall release.

And then FINALLY, the lovely Lea and I will be finishing our co-op story that is linked to Empire Blue.

There's plenty more on the horizon after that, but I wanted to stop in and let you all know exactly what's going on and to get your ideas on a new series name.

What's the limit? The sky, baby!

XOXO,

DC

Editor’s Pick!

Nothing is as it seems….

Temptation landed at Special Agent Larry Newman’s feet—literally. Charlene Smith captured his heart after he rescued her from terrorists two months ago. A failed relationship and being an abused child have turned him into a loner and workaholic. The scars weigh heavy on him and keep him from pursuing her. So what’s a guy to do when the woman he pines for passes out in front of him while working a case?

Battling psychological wounds from abduction is easier than coming face to face with the sexy FBI agent she’s fantasized about for months. A single mother, avoiding the drama that dating would bring to her son’s life, she allows Larry close only in her dreams. Now, she's second-guessing her decision. Should she have a relationship with this man who makes her feel alive just by being close?

Mac's Pearls - Showing and Telling

12/9/2014

In the beginning, in a land far, far away, there was a writer who was introduced to the concept of show and tell. No, it didn’t involve me bringing a toy and you bringing yours, nor did it cover me showing you mine, and you showing me yours. (winks)

Show and tell, all jokes aside, is nothing to laugh about. It’s the heartache of authors who don’t understand the difference. If you ask ten writers just what show and tell is, you’ll get ten different answers. In that group, you might even get one or two who don’t know what it is, and you’ll always get one that gets it completely wrong.

Let’s get down to the nitty gritty—and yes, I will try to explain this like I’d tell my six-year old.

Merry Christmas, Baby ~ Jill Shalvis New Release and Blog Hop!

Recently I had the pleasure of reading Jill Shalvis' ARC, Merry Christmas, Baby. It's a novella in the the Lucky Harbor series, and it gives the readers so much more than a short story.

About the book: Wild child Chloe Thompson can't believe how much things have changed. She still can't get enough of her sexy husband Sawyer, but he seems to prefer working to impending fatherhood. So tonight, a very pregnant Chloe is escaping her troubles at the town Christmas party.
Sheriff Sawyer Thompson hopes surprising Chloe at the party will give him a chance to set things right. But as the snow begins to fall and the wind rages, he wonders whether he can make it back in time. While mother nature conspires to keep Sawyer and Chloe apart, an unexpected arrival will require them to kiss and make up . . . and ring in the happiest holiday Lucky Harbor has ever seen.
