![]() Talk about busy times, crazy days. A few weeks ago I had a friend, fellow author and Jersey Girl Sandra Bunino set something into motion that would really change both of our lives, and has it ever. It's called Challenge On, and basically what we're doing is pushing each other--and ourselves--to get the workouts in and the wordcount out. So Sandra started kickboxing and from what I read last night, the remarkable woman is apparently doing front kicks now. And she keeps mentioning something suspiciously about busting werewolves butts. I don't know what that is all about, and I'm almost afraid to ask. I, on the other hand, recently quit smoking back in May and have struggled with my body (and mind) since then. No secret my muse seemed to go on vacation, but my energy level plummeted and I really didn't want to do anything. Did I feel good about quitting smoking? Well, yes. But did I like all those folks smiling and encouraging me on? *laughs* I wanted to punch someone is really where my frustration level was at. But now, I'm beginning to feel more like myself. And hey, I guess if the message was, "Quit smoking and you'll lose weight," we'd have a million skinny people across the planet dropping those cancer sticks like the bad habit they are. But instead of wallowing in my woe is me, I started a program called Insanity, and let me tell you, Shawn T has kicked my ass. He's kicked it so well, he's reminded me I'm not a spring chicken anymore and subtly put pressure on my memories to include those of all the previous abuse I put my body through in the military--and most painfully--my knees. Mr. Stone did warn me about this, but see, I'm stubborn and thought I could just push through it. Now, with my Challenge On, I've been falling off the wagon. So, now it's on to phase 2--and it's literally what the doctor ordered. Walking. Until I can get my knees checked out (and medically checked out) this poor body has been moved to walking only. And that's where you have me getting up at five thirty in the morning and doing so. Because really, once I'm done with the little man's football practice at the end of the day, the time for tending to yourself seems to disappear. So Sandra, my lovely challenge partner, there you have it. I'm still in the game--and yes, I'm back on track with writing, too. ;) Outside of that folks, I've got two great announcements to make. One, I have a new release popping out on the 16th, with Decadent Publishing, called Armed and Desired. Take a look here to find out more information, and trust me, make sure you have the volume turned way up, and the lights very low. *grins* The second announcement is I've joined a street team! This group is to have fun and promote authors Nikki Prince, Shyla Colt, Jessica Jayne, Doris O'Connor, Lila Shaw, Sandra Bunino, DC Stone, and Raven McAllen. The group was put together for our "super readers" to give you the inside track for new release news, advance reader digital copes (when available), swag packs, and promotional material. Please respect each other and join in. We'll send you great things like bookmarks, pens and other sexy swag items to share with your friends, coworkers, book clubs, coffee houses, salons, or anywhere lovers of red hot romance visit. By signing up to be a member of our "Street Team" you are agreeing to participate at least once a week with:
This is not an author group. We love reader participation and reader feedback. Assignments with swag prizes must be completed for prizes to be received. Have fun, and help bring authors of our Street Team to the top of the charts . . . Please remember that any eARCs/ecopies you may receive as being part of this group are not to be shared with others or uploaded to any internet sites. And now that all the legalities are out of the way, who is with me? I know there are a few Stoners out there who have expressed a desire in something like this before, so if you're still interested, just send me a message through my contact link and let me know. Have a happy Tuesday, and remember....drink coffee! :) DC
